Order Management

Overview

The Order Management feature in the POS system helps restaurants efficiently handle customer orders. Whether it's a dine-in, pickup, or delivery, this functionality simplifies managing individual and combo orders. Here's how it works:

Process Flow: Taking an Order

  1. Table Reservation:

    • Reserve a table for now or later.
    • Assign a table to the customer before starting the order.
    • Manage both immediate and future reservations seamlessly.
  2. Taking the Order:

    • Add individual items (like burgers, sandwiches, or drinks) to the order.
    • Include combo deals that group multiple items (e.g., burger, fries, and drink in one combo).
    • Orders can be customized with different variants or modifiers (e.g., extra cheese, no mayo).

Combo Orders

Combo orders let customers order multiple items as a single unit, often at a discounted price. These deals typically include items like burgers, drinks, and fries bundled together. Here’s how to create and manage them:

  1. Creating Combos via Inventory:

    • Navigate to the Accounting System and open the Inventory Module.
    • Use Inventory Groups to group items that are part of a combo.
    • Set up Variants to allow customers to choose options (e.g., large drink or extra toppings).
    • Add Modifiers like "add cheese" or "no pickles" to customize the order.
  2. Managing Combo Orders:

    • Combo deals appear on the order screen as a single item, making checkout faster.
    • Combos are easy to customize, with options and modifiers available for selection.

Viewing and Managing Orders

  1. Orders Tab:

    • The Orders Tab gives you an overview of all current and past orders.
    • From this tab, you can:
      • View a list of orders.
      • Print receipts for customers.
      • Retrieve suspended orders (more on that below).
  2. Suspend Order Feature:

    • Sometimes customers need more time to finalize their order or decide to pay later.
    • Suspending an Order temporarily saves it in the system without processing it.
    • Retrieve and complete suspended orders whenever the customer is ready to pay.

Delivery and Pickup Orders

  1. Setting for Delivery or Pickup:
    • When taking an order, you can choose Pickup or Delivery as the order type.
    • For Delivery: Include customer details such as address and phone number.
    • For Pickup: Set the time the customer will arrive to collect their order.

This streamlined Order Management system ensures efficiency in taking, managing, and fulfilling orders—whether they’re dine-in, pickup, or delivery!
